Well, as all of you know, FTHA HAS been back. Just recently though, I made this post on my BYOND Key's Page (http://www.byond.com/members/HeroOfTheDay, also you can click on my name on the HUB to get there.) but I figure I should post it here too since this IS the main forums.
Well. It's been a long time since I have made a post here to all of you BYOND people. It's going to be another long one so brace yourselves.
We've brought Freeze Tag HideAway back from it's dead state (Thanks to Lunar Yoshi/Ice_Yoshi254 and Aqua Flip/Flip123's devoted fan service of trying to keep it alive) and it's once again being updated! Refer to the post before this one (Or the HUB page and Forums for that matter) if you want to see what all the game still has in it. Now it's time for me to post on what it's going to have and is being currently worked on!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~NEW SIDE MODES~: Boo Tag (Side Mode) - This can ONLY happen in the events of a Standard, Survival, or Sudden Death Tag. When a player becomes a Boo by any means in these modes (Logged on to spectate, got caught in Sudden Death, defeated by a Fireball, stuff like that...), they have a choice to go to "Boo Tower" or a "Haunted Mansion" to play a game of Boo Tag. It will work like a normal game of tag. One Boo is IT while the others run from him. Upon tag, the other Boo is now IT and the previous IT becomes a normal Non-IT Boo. Possibly no Tag backs.
~NEW NORMAL MODES~: Hypo Tag - Another variation of a Standard Freeze Tag game but with a twist! The game chooses a random IT as always as the Non-IT's have to do their normal routine of avoiding being frozen. Catch is, when they are frozen, they have a limited time of being saved by a fellow Non-IT before succumbing to Hypothermia and turning into a Boo for the rest of the round! Definitely a Mode more suited towards the side of the IT's. The round ends just like a Standard Freeze Tag round would end with the added extra that all the Non-IT's can succumb to their Boo-ish nature. Credit goes to Luigi/Kragoth for the idea of this awesome mode.
Challenge Freeze Tag - This is, yet again, another variation of the Standard Freeze Tag Mode but THIS time it is more in favor of the Non-IT's. You all know the drill here by now but what makes this mode different is that the timer will start out at 30 seconds and begin to count down. Every time an IT player freezes a Non-IT, they gain 5 seconds to the timer. Fellow Non-IT's can unfreeze their frozen partners and the IT's can re-freeze them for more time. The other same basic rules also apply that if a Non-IT is tagged enough times, they become IT and help keep the timer above 0 so they can achieve their goal of freezing every Non-IT. The round ends just like a Standard Freeze Tag round would end.
~NEW ITEMS~: Star - If a IT player gets it, they are able to run though and obliterate everything while freezing players in their path for 5 seconds. The Star also boosts their icy touch greatly. So much, in fact, that any player within two spaces of the Star powered IT is immediately frozen. If a Non-IT gets it, they are able to withstand all attempts to be frozen and bounce IT players back about 10 spaces for 10 seconds. The Star also boosts their fiery touch. So much, in fact, that any frozen player within two spaces of the Star powered non-IT is immediately unfrozen. The Star also grants a greatly increased movement speed and strength. Able to use items at a faster speed making it easier to use items that have bad effects on them.
1-Up Mushroom - If a IT player gets it, they are able to use it on a Boo Player and revive them as an IT player. If a Non-IT gets it, they are able to use it on a Boo Player to revive them as a Non-IT Player. It can also be kept and used to revive yourself in Sudden Death Tag if you are not the last player remaining. It would be best to use it on another player in that mode if you are the last one alive.
~NEW FEATURE~: Unlockable System - Well, it was about time that we were going to attempt this. What we are going to try and bring to you, the FTHA Community, is an expansive Unlockable System. Some characters that are in the game now are even getting removed from the available list so that they can become a part of this special feature. For now, all we have planned is for new characters to be unlocked. There will be slight hints given on how to unlock that certain character but a lot of them will be vague, at most. I can offer a few examples:
Wartortle - Freeze the Poke'mon character Squirtle 100 times to unlock this second evolution of the Water Poke'mon.
Blastoise - Freeze the Poke'mon character Wartortle 200 times to unlock this third evolution of the Water Poke'mon. Alternately, you could freeze the Poke'mon character Squirtle 500 times to unlock this same character.
Charmeleon - Un-Freeze the Poke'mon character Charmander 100 times to unlock this second evolution of the Fire Poke'mon.
Charizard - Un-Freeze the Poke'mon character Charmeleon 200 times to unlock this third evolution of the Fire Poke'mon. Alternately, you could un-freeze the Poke'mon character Charmander 500 times to unlock this same character.
... And so on. Some will be as informative as these were (Not revealing the name of who you will unlock, of course. But it should be easy to tell who it will be.) and some will be a lot more vague. This is something that I have personally been excited about so hopefully you guys will think it's cool too.

Aside from all this stuff, there has also been numerous bug fixes as well as a few small updates to the game. I've been working heavily on equipping every character with a Fire State (With the exception of any Fire Poke'mon, Baby Bowser, and Bowser Jr. for they can use Fire on their own. Why make an alternate state for it?) and a Star State for the new item. A new Score called "Games Lost" has been added to the Status - Scores Tab. Unfortunately, it didn't update with the player's current scores so the count will start at 0. Not a problem for new players, though. Majority of the title screens have been removed with the exception of the very first title screen KirbyAllStar and I ever made together and a new Admin Title Screen was created by Luigi/Kragoth. Of course, the HUB has been updated as well and we even have a new GM (Welcome to the team, Jelly/Riona)!
Well, just wanted to give an update on what's been going on with FTHA since we've recently become more active. Drop by sometime and check in on us. We don't bite.
Hey, I'm still working on those icons though not as frequently. As most of you have realized (At least, I know Flip knows.), my fire for FTHA has died down a little since Luigi left us but I'm still trying to keep myself on things with these character updates. Well, figured I would let you guys know for sure what we want to try and bring on this next update Kirby and I have planned. See you guys in game.
